How to Delete All Your Comments on LinkedIn
Short answer: open your profile → Activity → Show all → Comments tab. Under each of your comments, click the … (more options) button → Delete → confirm. LinkedIn has no “delete all comments” button, so for hundreds of comments a bulk tool saves hours.
Why delete old comments
Your comments stay public on other people’s posts and are collected on your profile’s Activity page. Recruiters and new colleagues can scroll through years of them: debates you no longer stand behind, jokes that aged badly, or “Interested!” replies on job posts. Cleaning them up is a quick way to tidy your profile before a job search or a career change.
Find every comment you wrote
- Click Me → View profile.
- Scroll to the Activity section and click Show all.
- Open the Comments tab. It lists the posts you commented on, newest first, with your comment under each.
Delete a comment by hand
- On the Comments tab, find your comment under the post.
- Click the … (more options) button next to your comment.
- Choose Delete, then confirm in the dialog.
Each comment takes three or four clicks plus scrolling. That is fine for a few, but active LinkedIn users often have hundreds of comments spread over years.
Delete all comments in bulk
Activity Cleaner for LinkedIn is a free Chrome extension that deletes your comments one by one for you, on the Comments page you open yourself.
- Install Activity Cleaner from the Chrome Web Store and open LinkedIn in Chrome.
- Click the extension icon and choose Comments.
- Run a dry run to count how many of your comments are on the page. Nothing is deleted.
- Uncheck “Dry run” and start. Leave “How many items” at All or type a smaller number.
It deletes only your own comments, skips everything else, and works at a slow, human-like pace with breaks. It runs entirely in your browser and never asks for your password. The free plan deletes up to 10 items a day; Pro removes the limit.
Tips
- Deleting is permanent. LinkedIn has no trash or undo for comments. If a comment matters to you, copy it first.
- Replies go with it. When you delete a comment, the replies other people wrote under it are removed too.
- Work in sessions. Deleting hundreds of comments in one go looks like a bot. Spread it over several sessions.
- Know the risk. LinkedIn’s User Agreement restricts automated tools, so use any automation with moderation and at your own risk.
FAQ
Does LinkedIn notify anyone when I delete a comment?
No. LinkedIn does not send a notification when you delete a comment. It simply disappears from the post, and the post’s comment count goes down.
Can I delete all my LinkedIn comments at once with a setting?
No. LinkedIn has no built-in option to delete all comments at once. You can only delete them one by one, by hand or with a tool that does the clicks for you.
Can I delete comments on the LinkedIn mobile app?
Yes, one at a time: tap the … next to your comment and choose Delete. The Activity Cleaner extension works only in Chrome on a computer.
Can I edit a comment instead of deleting it?
Yes. Click the … next to your comment and choose Edit. Edited comments show an “Edited” label.
