How to Delete All Your LinkedIn Posts, Comments and Likes at Once
Years on LinkedIn leave a long trail: old posts that no longer fit your career, comments you would not write today and hundreds of likes. Before a job search or a career change, many people want a clean start. The problem is that LinkedIn has no “delete all” button, so everything has to go one item at a time. This guide shows the manual way step by step and a faster way to do it in bulk.
Why clean up your LinkedIn activity
Recruiters and hiring managers often open your profile and scroll through your recent activity. Posts about a past industry, heated comments or reactions to off-topic content can send the wrong signal. A tidy activity feed keeps attention on the work you do now.
Before you start
- Download a copy of your data. Deleted content cannot be restored. In LinkedIn, open Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → Get a copy of your data, and request an archive of your posts and comments.
- Decide what to keep. Posts that show your results or projects can stay. Remove what no longer represents you.
- Switch LinkedIn to English if you plan to use a tool: most tools look for English button labels.
The manual way
All of your activity is on one page: open your profile, scroll to the Activity section and click Show all. At the top you will see tabs: Posts, Comments, Images, Documents and Reactions.
Delete a post
- Open the Posts tab.
- Click the … menu in the top-right corner of a post.
- Choose Delete post and confirm.
Delete a comment
- Open the Comments tab.
- Find your comment under the post and click its … menu.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
Remove a like or other reaction
- Open the Reactions tab.
- Click your highlighted reaction button under the post (for example, Like). The reaction is removed.
Each item takes about four clicks. That is fine for ten posts, but cleaning up a few hundred posts, comments and likes takes hours of repetitive clicking.
The faster way: delete in bulk
Activity Cleaner for LinkedIn is a free Chrome extension that does the same clicks for you, one item at a time, on the activity pages you open yourself.
- Install Activity Cleaner from the Chrome Web Store and open LinkedIn in Chrome.
- Click the extension icon and choose Posts, Comments or Reactions.
- Run a dry run first. It counts everything that would be removed and deletes nothing.
- Uncheck “Dry run” and start cleaning. Leave “How many items” at All or type a smaller number.
It only touches your own content, skips other people’s posts and runs entirely in your browser: it never asks for your password and collects no data. The free plan cleans up to 10 items a day; Pro removes the limit.
Tips to stay safe
- Go slowly. Fast, repetitive actions can look like a bot. Use a safe pace with breaks, and clean in several sessions rather than all at once.
- Start small. Delete one or two items first and check the result before cleaning everything.
- Know the risk. LinkedIn’s User Agreement restricts automated tools, so use any automation at your own risk and with moderation.
FAQ
Can I restore deleted LinkedIn posts?
No. LinkedIn does not offer a trash or undo for deleted posts and comments. Download a copy of your data before you start.
Is there a built-in way to delete all posts at once?
No. LinkedIn only lets you delete posts, comments and reactions one by one from your activity page.
Does Activity Cleaner work on mobile?
No. It is a Chrome extension, so it works in Chrome on a computer (Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS).
Is it safe to give an extension access to LinkedIn?
Check what any extension asks for. Activity Cleaner works with the LinkedIn session already open in your browser, does not ask for your password and does not send your data anywhere. See its privacy policy.
