Privacy Policy — BillableCalc Timer

This policy covers the browser extension BillableCalc Timer (“the extension”), made by BillableCalc.

What we collect

Nothing. The extension runs entirely inside your browser. It does not send your time entries, clients, rates or browsing history to us or to any third party. We have no servers that receive data from the extension.

What is stored on your device

Your clients (name, hourly rate, currency), your time entries (start, end, note), the running timer, your settings (business name for invoices, rounding, next invoice number) and your Pro license key if you bought one. This data is kept in the browser’s local extension storage on your computer. Removing the extension deletes it.

Creating an invoice

When you press “Create invoice”, the extension opens billablecalc.com/invoice-generator.html in a new tab. The invoice lines (client name, your business name, dates, notes, hours and rate) are placed in the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part to the website’s server; the page reads it on your computer to fill in the invoice.

License check

If you activate Pro, the extension sends your license key to Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) to confirm the membership, and re-checks it every few days. Gumroad’s privacy policy applies to that request. Payments are handled by Gumroad; we never see your card details.

Permissions

• storage — to keep your clients, entries and settings on your device.
• alarms — to update the elapsed time on the toolbar icon once a minute while the timer runs.
• api.gumroad.com — only for the license check.

Selling or sharing data

We do not sell, rent or share any user data. Data is not used for advertising, credit-worthiness or any purpose unrelated to the extension’s single purpose: tracking your billable hours.
